Meriel Owen enjoys a versatile musical life and is in demand as a pianist and harpist. She studied piano with renowned composer and pianist, Larry Sitsky at the Canberra School of Music and collaborative piano with Rita Sloan at the University of Maryland.

As the recipient of the Stuart and Norma Leslie Churchill Fellowship in 2013, Meriel undertook further study of harp technique and repertoire in ensemble. Now based in Hobart, Meriel performs regularly with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Van Diemen’s Band and is an examiner for AMEB Tasmania.
